Carin C. Appel, MD
Dr. Carin Appel has been practicing with Women's Healthcare Associates since 2003. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She practices general obstetrics and gynecology enjoys both delivering babies and performing surgery.
She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) and an active member of the Texas Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (TAOG). She has been elected to serve as an Executive Council Member to TAOG. She has served as the Junior Fellow Chair of the Texas Section of ACOG.
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Texas A&M University. She graduated with honors from Texas A&M University Health Sciences Center medical school. She then obtained her speciality training through Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
She is married to Dr. Kevin Appel, an optometrist with Advanced Eye Care, and has two wonderful children, Aleah and Reade.
Rhodesia Castillo, MD
Dr. Rhodesia Castillo is a native Texan and has lived in Amarillo for over twenty years. After completing high school in a small town outside of Houston, she attended Austin College in Sherman, Texas and earned a BA in biology in 1982. She obtained her medical degree from Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in 1986, and completed her internship in Obstetrics and Gynecology from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center of Amarillo in 1990. Dr. Castillo is board certified by the American Board of OB/GYN.
After spending her residency in Amarillo and meeting her future husband here, she started her private practice in OB/GYN in 1991 and became one of the founding partners of Women's Healthcare Associates in 1996.
Dr. Castillo and her husband have three children. When not seeing patients or delivering babies, they occupy the majority of her free time. She is active in St. Mary's Catholic Church and enjoys photography, scrap-booking, and bike riding.
Clyde Meeks, MD
Dr. Meeks is a Board Certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist. He has been married to his wife, Brenda, for 34 years. He has four children and four grandchildren. He was a firefighter and paramedic for the Amarillo Fire Department for over six years prior to attending medical school.
He attended medical school at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He then completed a four year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Texas Tech University, Amarillo Campus.
Dr. Meeks has been in private practice since July 1992. For the first two years of private practice he also held a part time faculty position for Texas Tech University Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. During his tenure in private practice, he has served as Chief of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwest Texas Hospital and Baptist/St. Anthony's Hospital. He served as Secretary of the Medical Staff at Northwest Texas Hospital. He has also been a member of the Executive committee, Credentials Committee, and Quality Improvement Committee at both hospitals. He is a Fellow of the Amarillo College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Although he still treats patients in all areas of Obstetrics and Gynecology, he has developed an interest in urogynecolgy to treat urinary incontinence, minimally invasive surgery including laparoscopic hysterectomy, and the practice of aesthetics including laser skin rejuvenation. He is committed to attending educational activities to learn new and better ways to treat all of his patients.
Pamela Chandler, MD
Dr. Pamela Chandler is an Amarillo native who has been a member of Women’s Healthcare Associates since 1998.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Methodist University and attended the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio where she was awarded her medical degree in 1983.
After completing a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology she joined the faculty at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center here in Amarillo.
She was a member of this faculty for eleven years prior to joining Women’s Healthcare Associates.
Amanda Murdock, MD
Dr. Amanda Murdock has been a member of Women’s Healthcare Associates since 2010. She earned her Bachelor of Science, as well as, Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Oklahoma.
She then completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Amarillo where she was the administrative Chief Resident.
Dr. Murdock grew up in a small town in the Oklahoma Panhandle and truly enjoys providing obstetric and gynecologic care for the women of this area.
She met her husband, Stuart, while attending OU. They have two Boston Terriers, Zeus and Thor.
Jill Gulizia, MD
Dr. Gulizia has been practicing with Women’s Healthcare Associates since 2015. She enjoys taking care of a wide range of women’s issues from pregnancy, to sexual health, menopause and more. She is a member of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) and the Texas Medical Association (TMA).
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and her medical degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Dr. Gulizia then went on to complete residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences in Amarillo where she also served as chief resident and won the Golden Apple Teaching Award.
Originally from Nebraska, she is married with two children. She enjoys traveling, watching college football, cooking and spending time with her family.
Kathryn Bonds, MD
Dr. Bonds joined Women’s Healthcare Associates August 2016. She is a native Oklahoman who is passionate about women’s health. She enjoys providing many services including prenatal care, well-woman visits and gynecologic procedures.
Dr. Bonds obtained her undergraduate degree in Physics from Cameron University in Lawton, OK before attending medical school at the University of Oklahoma. Following graduation, she completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Texas Tech University in Amarillo, TX.
Brenna Melugin, FNP-BC
Brenna Melugin is a Nurse Practitioner who has been practicing with Women’s Healthcare Associates since January, 2014. Brenna has over 10 years experience working passionately as a Registered Nurse beginning in 2005 as a Labor and Delivery Nurse. Brenna received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree from Texas Tech University where she became a Family Nurse Practitioner. Brenna is Board Certified through the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC). Since 2008 , Brenna has been a member of Association of Women’s Health Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses. Brenna is a member of the Panhandle Nurse Practitioner’s Association.
Brenna is married and has one daughter. Brenna is very involved in the women’s ministry at her Church.
Brooke Hillard, FNP-BC
Brooke Hillard is a Family Nurse Practitioner and joined the staff at Women’s Healthcare Associates in 2014. Brooke received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Texas A&M University. After obtaining her degree she lived out her initial passion by working in Labor and Delivery for thirteen years.
Brooke received her Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner from Texas Tech University Health Science Center in 2013. Brooke is board certified through the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC). Brooke is a certified Childbirth Educator and volunteers by teaching classes at CareNet Pregnancy Center.
