Carin C. Appel
Dr. Carin Appel has been practicing with Women's Healthcare Associates since 2003. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She practices general obstetrics and gynecology enjoys both delivering babies and performing surgery.
She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) and an active member of the Texas Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (TAOG). She has been elected to serve as an Executive Council Member to TAOG. She has served as the Junior Fellow Chair of the Texas Section of ACOG.
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Texas A&M University. She graduated with honors from Texas A&M University Health Sciences Center medical school. She then obtained her speciality training through Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
She is married to Dr. Kevin Appel, an optometrist with Advanced Eye Care, and has two wonderful children, Aleah and Reade.
Dr. Rhodesia Castillo is a native Texan and has lived in Amarillo for over twenty years. After completing high school in a small town outside of Houston, she attended Austin College in Sherman, Texas and earned a BA in biology in 1982. She obtained her medical degree from Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in 1986, and completed her internship in Obstetrics and Gynecology from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center of Amarillo in 1990. Dr. Castillo is board certified by the American Board of OB/GYN.
After spending her residency in Amarillo and meeting her future husband here, she started her private practice in OB/GYN in 1991 and became one of the founding partners of Women's Healthcare Associates in 1996.
Dr. Castillo and her husband have three children. When not seeing patients or delivering babies, they occupy the majority of her free time. She is active in St. Mary's Catholic Church and enjoys photography, scrap-booking, and bike riding.
Dr. Brian Eades obtained his undergraduate education from Texas A&M University and attended Texas Tech University School of Medicine. After completing his residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas he returned to Amarillo to practice OB/GYN. After delivering more than 3,000 babies, he continues to provide comprehensive care at Women’s Healthcare Associates.
Dr. Eades coordinates the Group’s more advanced infertility services. When referrals are needed he consults with the Center for Assisted Reproduction in the Metroplex area and other fertility specialists within the State. Dr. Eades is also the supervising physician for Women’s Healthcare Associates nurse practitioners.
Dr. Eades has been involved in helping protect the quality of medical care in Texas. He has spent time working with the Texas Medical Association and the American Medical Association. In addition to his medical practice Dr. Eades currently serves as one of our Amarillo City Commissioners.
Dr. Meeks is a Board Certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist. He has been married to his wife, Brenda, for 34 years. He has four children and four grandchildren. He was a firefighter and paramedic for the Amarillo Fire Department for over six years prior to attending medical school.
He attended medical school at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He then completed a four year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Texas Tech University, Amarillo Campus.
Dr. Meeks has been in private practice since July 1992. For the first two years of private practice he also held a part time faculty position for Texas Tech University Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. During his tenure in private practice, he has served as Chief of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwest Texas Hospital and Baptist/St. Anthony's Hospital. He served as Secretary of the Medical Staff at Northwest Texas Hospital. He has also been a member of the Executive committee, Credentials Committee, and Quality Improvement Committee at both hospitals. He is a Fellow of the Amarillo College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Although he still treats patients in all areas of Obstetrics and Gynecology, he has developed an interest in urogynecolgy to treat urinary incontinence, minimally invasive surgery including laparoscopic hysterectomy, and the practice of aesthetics including laser skin rejuvenation. He is committed to attending educational activities to learn new and better ways to treat all of his patients.
Dr. Pamela Chandler
Dr. Pamela Chandler is an Amarillo native who has been a member of Women’s Healthcare Associates since 1998.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Methodist University and attended the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio where she was awarded her medical degree in 1983.
After completing a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology she joined the faculty at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center here in Amarillo.
She was a member of this faculty for eleven years prior to joining Women’s Healthcare Associates.
Dr. Amanda Murdock is the newest addition to Women’s Healthcare Associates. She earned her Bachelor of Science, as well as, Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Oklahoma.
She then completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Amarillo where she was the administrative Chief Resident.
Dr. Murdock grew up in a small town in the Oklahoma Panhandle and truly enjoys providing obstetric and gynecologic care for the women of this area.
She met her husband, Stuart, while attending OU, and they have been married for four years. They have two Boston Terriers, Zeus and Thor.
